I’m really excited about this. Last week I told you about the importance of time off of the grid and how I’d just come back from a solo backpacking and planning trip.
I’ve always wanted Kirin to see my secret spot. It is right by a waterfall, hidden in a forested valley. The sky is blue, the air is fragrant with pine and bay leaves. It’s far from a national park, but it’s pretty special to me.
My son Ryan has camped with me there before and been out several times but Kirin never had. It’s a bit of a trek and involves quite a bit of scrambling, bushwhacking, and river crossings.
After my last trip, I worked hard to find the easiest way between there and civilization with hopes of bringing Kirin someday.
We had time the other day and she was up for the adventure. A few points were touch and go but she persevered and I was so happy to be able to show it to her.
