Dr. C here. I heard an incredible story the other day from my good friend Dr. Sara Gottfried.
She was sharing the terrifying and traumatic events that led up to her writing her newest book Brain Body Diet. It was especially moving because I was by her side when the accident happened.
Trust me when I tell you this isn’t just another book on re-packaged and outdated lifestyle advice. As I’ve gotten into Dr. Sara’s book, I’m blown away by what I’ve been learning about how the brain/body connection controls almost every aspect of our health.
I asked if I could share some of her story with you because I believe every person who wants to end anxiety or depression needs to read this book.
I strongly encourage you to read Dr. Sara’s story below and head over to Amazon where her Brain Body book is currently on sale.
To your best health,
What I Learned From My Terrifying & Traumatic Brain Injury – from Dr. Sara Gottfried, MD.
I was standing in the kitchen when it happened…
I fainted—passed out cold.
I fell, struck the cold tile floor, hitting the back of my head so hard that I had what looked like seizures due to the trauma.
When I hit my head, I was diagnosed with a severe concussion, a form of traumatic brain injury. At first, I felt hopeless because after the emergency room and hospital stay my doctors’ recommendations weren’t helping me heal.
As my symptoms worsened, I knew something was wrong, so I set out to understand the biological imperatives that were at work behind the scenes of my symptoms.
It was terrifying—until I figured out the root cause . . . and then the solution.
Yes, my fall was traumatic and terrifying, but it was also life-changing.
What I discovered radically altered my understanding of how to heal the human body.
It turns out that when you take care of your brain body, you’re actually taking care of all the systems in your body: body weight set point, anxiety, depression, addictive tendencies, sex drive, heart and circulation, gastrointestinal and immune systems, and of course, the endocrine system, from your thyroid to your sex organs.
Repairing the brain resolves so many small and big health issues, from the mundane and annoying to the memory-robbing and life-threatening. Mending the brain addresses the root of many of the irritating bodily symptoms that you may have, and this process you’ll learn could be the most important tool in your arsenal.
These are the lessons I’m bringing to you in my new book Brain Body Diet.
If you consider yourself an open-minded person, then I want to invite you on a journey that will forever change how you approach healing your body, balancing your mood and achieving your ideal body weight.
