Did you know of the biggest causes behind stress is your own blood sugar?
I just did a program with Razi Bari about sugar addiction and how you can overcome it. The first step is to see what kind of an addiction you have.
- “Brain” hooked: Very simply, sugar acts on a part of the brain called the nucleus accumbens, the pleasure center of the brain, and leads to a reward cascade that is hard to resist. (And harder during stress.)
- “Body” hooked: Sugar disrupts hormone balance, with insulin and leptin resistance leading to blood sugar imbalance and over-eating.
- “Mood” hooked: Many people crave sugar due to imbalances in neurotransmitters and hormones which lead to mood disturbance, so simply feeling anxious, depressed, or aggravated can lead to the overconsumption of sugar and processed foods.
It’s time to learn what you need to know.
